14th/15thC Medieval Knives - Brass Folding Knife TCP64

A medieval folding pocket knife or razor fitted into a brass ‘Gothic’ handle and held open with a thumb tab.  Copied from a Thames River find. Comes with natural veg tan leather sheath. As do all the folding knives.

Brass handle, carbon steel blade
Folded length - 14cm/5.5”
Unfolded length - 18cm/7”
Grip Length - 10cm/4”
Blade length - 8cm/3.25”

This medieval Brass Cased folding knife (TCP65) is of a common pattern you see through from the 12th to 16thC.

A very easy to make, low status, utility, folding knife.  Solid brass case, hollow ground straight edged blade that can be used as a razor.  Although, whether or not this was used as a razor or just as a folding utility knife we do not know.  Blade is carbon steel and held open with a thumb tag which was the standard way until the 17th C.

Total opened length:  150mm / 6"

Blade length: 65mm/ 2.5"

Grip length" 90mm/3.5"

This medieval horn, folding knife (TCP66) is based on a 14thC example but this sort of style was around in both the 13th and 15thC.  It may or may not be a razor or a simple utility knife, we do not know. But, either way the blade is held open by a simple thumb tag which was the standard way until the 17thC.

Overall length - 19cm/7,5"

Blade length - 75mm/3"

Grip length - 11cm/4.25"

All three knives come with a natural veg tan leather sheath.
